Problem Starting my MINI

Howzit,

Ok so i went down to the garage this morning and when i tried starting my car its is just swinging and i can get fuel smell. I have no clue what the problem is and i call Mini, they come here tow my car to the dealer and start diagnosis, they say they assume it was the battery!

How can that be possible as the car was swinging and i could use any function in the car, lights, radio, etc?

Any ideas?

I honestly feel like selling this car, its only 6months old!!

That is what i told these idiots, they said they need to follow the bmw process for diagnosis.

BMW are full off shit!!

Its still under motorplan but im more pissed because the car is so new and all the problems surface, i paid a large amount off money for an unreliable car!!

apparently MP don't cover diagnostics, according to the idiots at Leo Haese.

Why you say lots of problems? What else is wrong with it?

Well over the last 6 months i have taken the car to MINI over 5 times which i feel is ridiculous. Some off these things i had to go two dealerships to get done as i was on holiday and it wasnt repaired the first time around.

Car not starting, Stabliser link, Software update, key wasnt picking up in the ignition, these are just the problems i remember and also then i had services, brakes etc.

They might all be minor and resolved now but i dont have the time every other month to take the car there and drop off & pick up, its annoying.

I feel if you take it once for the service, all problems should be picked up and resolved then so we dont have to suffer.

Or am i just being unreasonable?

I did, i swore everyone i spoke to today, i told them i am actually considering returning the car based on the new consumer act as we have 6months to let them know if we are not happy with the car.

If i dont get any joy soon, i will contact the DP.

My mom had the same problem with her mini, also petrol smell, and it was the battery. BMW asked something like R2600 for the diagnostic and a new battery

not really, power can be to low to swing the car, but other stuff might still work

o ok, its 6 months old. How can the battery be low?

They called now, said they need to recharge the battery for 24hrs then recheck and if that doesnt work there will be a series off test on alternator etc.

:argh::argh::argh:

Other than all off this crap, i love my car

Just wish it didnt have to be so faulty

o yeah the only good out off this was i got a JCW as a coutesy for the weekend, so i shall be taking out my frustration on that
