As motoring enthusiasts, we always are looking for ways and methods of :-

-Trying to extract more horsepower
-Aesthetics to improve the looks of the vehicle
-General tips and tricks to keep your pride and joy looking good or general DIY

We more often than not, forget that for just a few hundred rand, we are able to equip ourselves with simple off the shelve goodies that help us limit or even maybe completely avoid damage to our pride and joy.
We find ourselves caught up with ethanol / methanol, larger turbos / DP’s and the list goes on.

Ever heard that that phrase...”pay to play" ? Safety in my opinion is by far the furthest item we tend to take into consideration

Below are a set item emergency items that I keep in the all my cars, and yes including my daily drive – a VW polo. (individual choice may differ)

Come on guys! Prevention is better than....

Same my side. Got extinguishers in all my cars plus the tools (GRIP) makes good tools. I also added the fire blanket in each car.

+1 on this rowen

Please don't forget to add a wheel spanner and a jack onto this, and guys check your tools once in a while,

If you have bought a new BMW recently, even if the car is brand new, quickly go out to the car and check if you have the wheel lock nut key.

I need to tell you guys a story where I got caught out.

I had the suspension rebuilt on my L300 truck, but found that on stripping, that one of the tie rods were bent.

I had tie rods manufactured as they were no longer available, and the car stood for 2 month.

Had my guys drive the truck then to wheel alignment which is 100m from my shop, got the truck back, and decided it use it that evening to test out the suspension.

Went fine, next morning on the way to work, I suddenly felt a nasty vibration, and with 300m I knew I had a bad problem.

Coached the truck to the side of the road, and was mortified with what I saw,

I had lost all but one wheel nut, on the frikken N3 highway in morning traffic. my wheel was hanging on by one nut, and it happened so dam quickly.

I was also doing heavy braking on the truck the previous evening to bed the brakes in again after it had stood for so long, imagine that wheel came off...

I don't even know who to blame for this, the suspension guys, the wheel alignment guys, my guys, mostly myself for not checking, but if I had lost a wheel at 100km an hour, I would not be sitting here right now...

Oh, and I did not even have a wheel spanner or jack in the car, as I never bothered to check, I had to bum some from the side of the road.

Mine looks similar, except for the ciggies.

I have the addition of the following
fire extinguisher
Tyre weld. To make the runflats go further.
duct tape (can fix anything)
Sunblock and hat (ginger life)
bottle of wine (you never know)
disposable breathalyzers (and a scooter angels subscription)
umbrella

To add:
Tyre pressure gauge
petrol money
oil
better toolkit maybe?
First aid kit for less serious stuff. The BMW has plenty of bandages, but nothing to disinfect a simple cut or bandaids.
