Power steering noise

Hi, can anyone tell me if my power steering unit can make a noise due to old fluid?
Its almost like a rattling noise but doesn't feel like a bearing.

Change the fluid if the noise is still there the pump is on it's way out.

are you sure, that there is enough fluid in the reservoir ?

Is the steering stiff when you lock it to either side ?
