Powaron

If it works with the cars tested as per their website claims there is no reason why it should not work with other direct injection motors such as the N54.

From what I've seen the claimed increased in octane v.s. price does not seem to make it any better of an option that what's already on the market. I would also like to see what they've actually put in this stuff to achieve the increase. Generally speaking on those products with MMT's actually boost octane levels when mixed in base fuels in small quantities.

sorry to go off topic here, but i have heard that OB1 still remains the better octane booster on the market, i have heard some stories about Powaron, but dont have substantial evidence to post it on here though.

Tried it in my car - advanced timing by 8degrees with minimal knock.

I reckon for a BMW a mixture with Ethanol would be king. Since there is no ethanol in the recipe.

WRT to OB1 - also used it in my car with very similar results, OB1 does contain ethanol which is a plus - timing advance was lower than with PowaRon.

There are always horror stories about any product on the market, all octane boosters are sold with a use at own risk disclaimer.

I am a listed agent of PowaRon - full disclosure, and can tell you that I have had good experiences with both local octane boosters.

I read the "Avg Ign" measuring block on JB4 as knock - running pump fuel readings increase to the region of 8, using Powaron readings dropped to 1.
