well, had a friend in bloem who broke off his sideshaft from a pothole, municipality paid for the parts and he fixed it...
should be able to claim as far as I know

i hit a pothole going to jhb in veliers at +/- 100km took both my hub caps off so glad i hit a smaller one thAN him :thumbsup:

to submit a claim to the local municipality for the damage sustained to your car and/or passengers, due to a pothole or similar road defect, you have to immediately take photos of the car and damage, also be able to prove the following: 1. that you were traveling at the prescribed road speed and 2. that the municipality was aware of the defect for more than 3 days and nothing was done about it.. how you are going to prove that, is a mission by itself but they do pay for valid claims. it was a hot topic of discussion on 702 talk radio 3 weeks ago.
