I’m starting a poll

Want to see what the taking/attraction would be.

I want to open a full on shop in pta east/north for performance tuning, general servicing, detailing, customization, paint restoration/dent repair/scratch repair, vinyl wrapping....

Would you make use of these facilities?

Wouldn't centurion be a more convenient area? That way both pta and jhb/midrand markets can be serviced?

:withStu: north PTA reduces the clientele from both.
If you choose your products carefully to be unique you wont have to worry about other dealers doing similar things, They will come :smilebounce:

I guess so, but having it in pta east really limits you in terms of market though imo

Go for it :bravo:

If you going to specialise then you can risk opening near well known brands. If you going to offer a general service then the competition may be alot harder.

If you establishing a full on shop with a well known/established brand then the brand will be a strong drawcard and would be able to co-exist with existing competition.

Other things like easy access and your current clientele in the new geographic area will help in your new success...

It really depends on the type of customer you want for performance tuning. Most high end buyers in Pretoria don't mod their cars, then the BMWs, VAGs and Mercs will probably want software occasionally but I don't think it will be enough to sustain a business. Dont think you'll get low end customers, however if you go to PTA north, you can probably start a crappy exhaust shop and have customers if you name it appropriately.

Servicing, I will definitely yay for that, I constantly find myself annoyed at overpriced servicing costs, that I just do it myself, so yes, if you show quality and be reasonably priced, I'll bring my car to you :)

Menlyn area would be a good place .you need to cater for standalone managements aswell.its a big problem to go dyno in jhb for racepreps.
