Hello guys, as this is only my second post on the forum, I hope you guys are gonna be gentle with me. Dont like the rough stuff

Anyway, I have had an itch to get myself a 740i, one popped up today, a stock standard original 95 model. And before I get my head in a vice, I'm hoping you guys can give me some advice on what to look or listen for. Anything a car salesman will not tell you. And possibly expected fuel consumption figures will also be appreciated. Had vehicles before that gave me a paltry 3k's to the litre, so anything more than that is welcomed.

Much appreciated guys, if all goes well, she gonna be mine!!! Obviously afetr I convinced the mrs :-(

Jusso, that was quick. But thank you for the advise, forums like this make things so much easier for all. Would however just like to see what some of the other peeps have to say.

the motor is virtually indestructible,

The gearbox is extremely tough

The body on the the E32 however you cannot kill without a nuclear explosion, or a drunken 18 year old, keep those two away and she will last forever.

Do not expect to maintain this car on a toyota budget, but if she is in good condition, and you do a reasonable amount of maintenance, its a fantastic car.

Umm 3kms to the litre.... i think you had a hole in your fuel tank.

Nope. it was a land rover 3.9l :roflol:

But thanx guys for the advise, there is one up on Gums for 25k. Car out in Saldana Bay, West Coast. Far drive for me and the Mrs if it's a waist of time. But I guess there is some good scenery along the way, so not a total loss. And besides, I never did the dirty dead in the bush yet :roflol:

So what should I check for if I do decide to go look at it?
