Out of plan servicing

Howzit,

My car is out of plan but has, until now, fsh with BMW; my first choice would be to maintain this standard, cost is an important consideration though.

So, is there a big difference in servicing costs (Indy vs agent)?

Who would you trust (Indy) ? I'm in Edenvale

Thanks

Main difference is usually labour costs

Your original Oil & Filters are not that bad at the dealers

You have not stated which vehicle which is another factor

All we know you could be referring to a Twin Turbo V12 760I

Get your oil and filter service done at dealers as they are quite reasonable.
for stuff like brakes , I suggest, source parts on your own and find a reliable workshop/indy mech to fit for you.

Depends on what model you have, but I would keep the basic services at a dealer. Prices are actually not too bad for servicing.

Should it come time for repairs, then take it to a good indy, depending on what they specialise in (for example, for gearbox issues, go directly to ZF).

For normal oil services, shop around between Bmw Dealers.
They run specials on services from time to time.

I live close to your area, so Bmw Bruma is the closest to you.
Another alternative is buying the parts from BMW then having a trusted mechanic fit it for you. Leo Hase (a forum member) always has very good specials, they just far from you :blueCry: (Pretoria)

For Brakes and pads i definitely recommend the guys at Star brake and clutch on terrace road. they know their stuff and give good prices.

To fit brakes go To Kwik fit at bedford center, very good workmanship for super cheap labour price.

Thanks, guys. Much appreciated. It's a 2007 320d. Only routine service needed, so, based on the advice here, I will shop around at the dealers.
