Hi Guys,

People are always asking questions around the halogen options for replacement before going HID. I think it is accepted that the Osram Nightbreakers are best for this purpose so I have attached links to get more info around this product.

The bulb types available in Nightbreaker can be found here:
http://www.osram.com/osram_com/prod...rs/halogen-light/night-breaker-plus/index.jsp

And the vehicle fitment guide can be found here:

I just confirmed with a Thinus from Osram S.A sales. The Plus isn't just better with regards to lifespan. It has 10% better output than the original Nightbreaker.

Time to upgrade the high beam, again

Except that the Plus is not available in South Africa in 9005/HB3 and 9006/HB4. Unless I spoke to the wrong people. :( *sob*

I just want the H7. My spots (9006) are already HID.

Midas sells the H7. So does places like Makro and Autostyle but they seem to be more expensive.

So I replaced my previous OEM bulbs with the Osram Silverstars as I had these from my E46 already (yeah, they last looong). The difference was decent.

I have now replaced the Silverstar with the Nightbreaker Plus and the difference is huge. The colour temp is still quite low which is a pity since it doesn't match or come close to the 6000k Xenons but the light output is really a lot better.

Definately money well spent.

And?

Thanks Abmi, talk about been put on the spot......

Well I actually cheated, I went and installed HID kit with projectors.

Simple, you want better light then do the HID upgrade. As far as I can tell the Osrams price here in CT are like R 400. The kit with projectors and error canceller was +- R1000.00. R 600 difference from what Ive seen in my buddys car that has the Osrams is absolutely worth it.
