Orange Oil Light

Howzat guys,

Ok,when I sart my car at anytime of the day there is a orange oil light on the cluster that stays on for a few secounds and then goes off. I was told that this is the oil pressure light? is this true? Is it something to worry about?

Yebo, your sensor is faulty, same thing on my car.

just be careful my oil dropped in two weeks and lucky i picked it up just in time so i check my oil often as it doesn't. warn you if your running low

If its an e46 then its the oil level sensor. Very common fault.

Yes E46 ,So I need the oil level sensor and not the oil pressure sensor ?

I only know that light to mean that your oil is low, so I would agree that it's only the level sensor. Not sure whether there is a separate display for the oil pressure.

Ok cool, I do check oil every morning now and the oil level is fine.

just the oil level sensor, I always check anyway so when it started that kak I just left it.

I have the same issue, when I had my codes read it was the oil level sensor.

Had four E46 beems so far with the same issue. after the secound one, I did not bother to fix it.
