I think it rocks! Maybe a 1275E with a charger?

I was considering just for giggles, grabbing one of the old panel vans and going mad with it.

Imagine rocking up at a client in that. :joy:

I have some awesome ideas for the look of yours though... hehe

As one of the old mini guys, I think you must just do it nicely, the bakkies are becomming very rare and cutting one will be a shame. It you do it just try not to do anything that can not be undone.

As for getting one, you will see on the prices that they are not cheap anymore.

You should with some planning get a small turbo on there without cutting the fire wall. I have seen one done with the turbo mounted above the clutch housing. But there is no way you are going to get a intercooler in there. And I think building a high reving NA motor will give you a better drive and probably more relaiable.

I was thinking of putting in a small toyota motor and a small turbo.

Its just a thought at the moment :)

Cool Idea! I personally prefer the panelvan. Did a '66 1,000cc up when we used to have the Autoglym Agency down here - ran a mobile valet service out of it. Worked like an absolute charm - better than any other advertising we ever did.

yip there is a RWD V8 runnug around in the UK. There are quite a few but the guys there have the benifit of getting full fiberglass shells and then do with it what they want to.

And a turbo toybota motor is going to be a VERY tight fit. Maybe get in cntact with Tommy up here in JHB. He has a kit that bolts up and then you fit the toy motor without big mods. but I would still keep it NA, you are just going to create another uno turbo. the bakkie weight in at only 550 kg. And with 120KW odd you will have a good fast plaything. adding a turbo will just cause wheel spin.

Other thing you have to consider is they wheels. biggest you can go without it looking like a fcukyard jod is 195/45 13's, They only cost R1500 per tire. next is 175/50's they are about R800 per tyre but realy no good. So before just chucking 200 KW into the car and having a power to weight of an enzo, think how much of that you will be able to use.

There are guys with 120 - 140 kw in the UK running in the 12 seconds.
