I think oem and one aftermarket option. Most guys seem to prefer liquid moly....so having the 2 options might attract more people.

Personally though I just go oem with fluids and filters. They not that badly priced compared to aftermarket anyway. They knock the people on labour and in some cases do more harm than good.

Dealers use Shell oil, just repackaged in BMW branding.

Both LM and Shell oils are perfect, I've use/d both.

Honestly for the E90 and F30 customers, the most popular kits I send out is the Bosch Air and Oil, GUD and Mann on Cabin and Fuel respectively as they both made OEM on those generations, combined with Liqui Moly 5W30 Longtime High Tec.

Although many have moved to the Motul 8100 X-Clean 5W40 as it meets the approval on the petrol and diesel LL-04 (Generally SA Spec).

I do know Petronas Syntium is doing well with the 5W40 LL-01 approved range coming in finally in 5L units.

Thanks for the reply. Looking at doing something maybe with Motul as I have used a lot of their products and I'm extremely happy with their stuff.

I have already worked out something with a Mann Oil filter and liquid Moly top tech 4600.

Wanna just confirm the OEM Filters and oils before I do anything

E90 330d
Aftermarket filter (still an OE manufacturer if possible)
Motul or Shell Oil. (Best to use LL-04 of course)

I have used MANN, FRAM, & GUD filters on many BMW's without fail.
Same goes with the oils, I've tried all of those including Castrol but found Motul & Shell to be the best priced.

Hey Gents...

so back on this.. I unfortunately wont be able to compete with the pricing of an OEM Filter and Oil and the service done with ABM Midrand.
The discount system applies to forum members.

That being said i will be doing a service special with Aftermarket Filter (Bosch or Mann Filter) and oils from Motul.
Now not everyone is aware of Motul and their oils and might be skeptical about it, however i have used them now for a while in a couple cars as well as bikes and happy with it.
I have also made use of the brake fluids like 5.1, RBF 660 and very happy with the results.

Oil service special will be from R900 mark, depending on the amount of oil your car uses. BMW models use different amounts ranging from 5 liters and upwards, so the price will differ depending on if you need 5ltr or 6ltr of oil etc.

IF you still interested you welcome to drop your names on this list and will happily assist with pricing.

Just for reference and some information regarding the Motul products, see the signed deal they have with BMW Motorsport USA

Perhaps as an option, consider a cheaper charge for labor, if the customer brings their own oil and filter.

I think by now most people would have heard of Motul in the car communities but I will chip in here on Motul: I switched from the purple Liqui Moly GT1 to the Le Mans 300V Motul on my Subaru. It was not a cheap switch and I can't vouch for the lower-end Motul products, but in the couple of years I used it I swore by it! It made sense since the car was used the way it was and the platform was a disaster that needed the best band-aids possible. I was considering a swap to Motul on the M5 as well. I use the brake fluid as well (RBF660).

I've started moving everything over to Motul, the 335i especially since it's due for another service in about 500 odd km. Really happy with it overall.

As a side note, I bumped into Wayne Hay today (WH Performance) and he's a Motul affiliate as well, it's on his business card. He builds some awesome Scoobies and they get put through thier paces regularly.

Motul is a good brand of oil.

In addition with Motul or Liqui Molly etc one can choose the grade of oil whereas with BMW one either gets a 30 or a 60 oil.
As an engine ages and clearances become wider / larger a thicker oil is oftentimes a good choice.
