Oil filters - do they differ?

I'm up for an oil change - spoke to Michael at SOS today got all the specs on the right oil to use, but no info on filter

Which brand of filters are best for these fine machines we drive?

Are they all similar?

Gizmo, Strretracer, LZ - what's the answer

I'm very biased when it comes to OEM versus non-OEM. I'm pretty sure a number of members don't agree.

BMW is better in my opinion. But GUD and Fram make decent replicas.

there is one factory that makes the gud and fram filters its in pietermaritzburg if the are exactly the same quality i dont know i once got a gud filer for a Nissan that one could see the Nissan filter printing markings through the gud paint

Well, I got a sneaky suspision that this may be an affordable part from the dealer, its odd how they do that, but certain items are the same/cheaper at the dealer then what you can get it for from Autozone....

Both Fram/Gud are decent products, get prices on both and compare to the dealer, if the dealer is like R50 more, go OEM.
