Minty's Bedfordview had a special on these Pirelli's, in 205/45/R17 at R1,864/tyre including fitment and balancing

Regardless of these being soft I don't think any other brand offering this size can compete.

Speak to Jakkals323i on the forum - he has them on his E90 and is very happy with them.

I would have loved to have fitted them on my E90 but could not find stock and at good prices at the time, so stayed with the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A I RFT's which I am still perfectly happy with.

Leonard, doesn't your E60 have the space-saver kit in the boot? You could then just use normal tyres, unless like me you prefer the safety aspect of the RFT's...

Have them on my E92 and am happy with them. Would have preferred the Michelins but there was no stock when I was looking.

I just got from Minty's, R1710+ bal
HIQ had and Local tyre guys R3100 ea... bloody rip-off. Put V rated.

Rear tyres are a little more pricey-- R4800 ea.

Find them to soft for rears, +_ 25000km and tyres are gone, and I am not a racer..at least not all the time..

Correct i have them on my 17's and have to say lots of grip "yes i like cornering alot" road noise aint bad at all and wet traction also very decent.
Have to say for the rears they are maybe a bit soft but hey it's a performance tyre so they tend to be softer and wear quicker.

Overall i'm really happy with them on my 17's but at the moment have my 18's on and keeping the 17's as a spare set in case something happens.

and at that price it sounds very reasonable for the tyre.. I was lucky that i got mine on special and i paid that price for the 255's on the rear and something like 1200 for the front 225's...

Hope this helps...

Right so it looks like I'm going for the P-Zero's. A bit weary of the tyre wear, so I guess I'll just have to drive less like a hooligan.

I was offered Conti's, but the ratings don't look good on it and the dealer told me to stay away from them too.

Bridgestones RE050 are a no no too.

Can't really find Michelin or Goodyear RFT's either.

I have heard horror stories about Contis but some Audi forum guys swear by them. Michelin only make one range of RFT and they don't offer the right size.

Please keep us (me) updated on how the P-Zero's perform. Would be nice to know what I'm getting myself into.

Cheers
