Hey Guys

Theres a few drag events coming up that i want to enter to set down some times.Have any of you used the following product or used something similar im abit undecided on what fuel to use.

@Twinz i know you had a similar thread a while ago your input here would be greatly appreciated :=):

Tried mixing your own brew? I did this with my old 3.2 for ODI. Works just great. Inexpensive too.
Toluene is what you need and you can find it over the counter at your friendly chemical shop.

Used to chuck in about 5L per tank of standard pump fuel. Have a look here.

One thing i have learnt from mixing fuels is that you get the best out of 40 litres race Gas 98 unleaded with a bottle of Torco or NF Race mixed in. Drag mix i have seen the guys use 20L 98 Race Gas with a bottle of booster. I used 105 and 120 before and the guys throw in a lot of stuff that does not agree with the cars. Stick to 98 and the booster for drags bud.

Thanks Edz

So you say 40 ltr of 98 gas then a bottle of booster not the whole bottle like they suggest in a 20 ltr ?

I take it i will have to buy the 98 somewhere as our pumps only stock 95 do you recommend a place ?

and suppose half a bottle of NF in a 20 ltr container would do just the same then ?

Thanks

ATS or Zwartkops Raceway have 98 race gas. ATS you can buy with the drum sealed etc where Zwartkops you have to take your own container.

Mix a entire bottle of whatever booster with 1 x 20 litre drum of 98 race gas for drag events and for track days to help with detonation cos of high heat loads run 40 litres of 98 with a entire bottle of booster.

Just remember your wagon will take a couple of kilo's to adapt the dme so i always double the volume so as to be able to adapt the wagon properly.

....and its just way more fun being able to run on that fuel:roflol:

I've tried the Toluene twice and all I can say is:praise::praise:
Then I got warned that I could melt my pistons using it on a n/a car and i stopped using it:cry:
But my xperience with it was
It's my understanding that it works best with turbo cars but it did make a hell of a difference the 2 times i've used it:thumbs:

Gummyberry juice!

It's safe to use provided you don't get greedy with the octane.

WHat would you suggest as a mixing ratio? 5lt toluene to 50lt pump fuel? Based on our crappy 95pump what would the 5lt do for mix in terms of octane?

I was told to mix it 1ltr to 10ltrs of 95....if u mix it wrong then there will be no improvements in the car.
So 5ltrs to 50litrs is spot on:thumbs:

5 liters toluene, 10 liters E95 and 35 liters of 95. 100 plus octane!

Hey Guys

Turbo Toys sells a 20L 105 Ron for R 490
They say they buy it like that they dont mix it

What do you guys think should i try it or has anyone got some info on it ???
