Hi guys,
I want to buy a obd reader, have been wanting for some time,
Just I had no knowledge of how it works,
What system requirements do I need to run it,
But the difference between inpa, kcan, ebidas or something,
I dont even know if I have a obd1 or 2,

Basically im searching for knowledge, please give me sites where I can go learn, maybe a manual or something,
Also what should I buy,
I know this might sound stupid, but my aim is to start with reading codes and errors, then want to do adjustments like setting fuel pressure airflow etc,
I hope to end with writting mapps for my car, coding, etc
I know this will take time, I have time, even if its a year or two later, im passionate to learn this,
Seen on bid or buy they sell cheap, like 300 for a cable and disc, but again not sure what im buying or what I need,

Anyway any help, advise, would be appreciated,

Have a laptop with cable and software loaded. Included is a bluetooth obd reader as well to use with torque or bmwhat

Laptop functions but battery needs replacement.

Asking 1500 for all included.

Reading codes etc can be done with a clone INPA cable..

When it comes to manipulating the map, youll need a master tool like CMD, Alientech etc etc. These are very pricey.

If youre keen to learn from the basics, google 'winols', watch some youtube vids as well on it

Thanks 444YYY very informational, still reading,
Thanks Moxypen, will see you tomorrow to collect,
Thanks Burgy, for will learn the basics and attempt it, long term would love to be able to play around with maps, maybe not writing new ones, just customizing existing one,

I was on youtube yesterday, seems complicated but will learn, also Moxypen was kind enough to say he will teach me,

I cant wait to get started, going to be very exciting,

Winols is probably the most complicated because the map is shown as tables and each table must be manipulated numerically.

If you can get a basic understanding of it, youre on the right track
