As title states...
Got me an new 1er!!
2011 e82 Alpine white, M-sport - DCT 135i!! :rollsmile:
First impressions:
The dct box is amazing, shifts are super quick and pretty much seamless,
I love the throttle blip on down shifting!
Throttle response, seeing as I've only ever had NA bmw's I was pretty surprised to notice I could feel a difference between my 125i i6 and the 135i in terms of responsiveness, it isn't anything major but I definately noticed it.
Power delivery very linear, very smooth, once the car gets moving it sure moves quick! haven't even pushed it near anywhere to the limit :fencelook:
Consumption, initially when I picked it up it was sitting on 15.2l/100kms!
Today I reset the consumption meter and took a drive to one of my favorite coffee haunts [city driving, stop start traffic,hills etc] then took the JHB city highway home when I got home I checked my consumption and it was sitting at 12.2 l/100kms! Which considering that was with a bit of new car hoonage and playing with the dct box I think it is quite respectable.
My old 125i used to be around 11.5l/100kms so I am sure with respectable smart driving I could maybe even better that figure..
Overall there are one or two small niggles to sort out with BMW which will be attended to in the week but I am pretty stoked....
