Doesn't the ///M merely denote ///M styling on ///M Sport cars.... That's steering and sills.

It seems as though only the under 5 sec cars seem to have them on the back as std from the factory

You can get a 2-Series active tourer M-Sport so I guess the M badge is diluted to a certain extrent.

Unfortunately the sad truth. It is however a M-performance car instead of a M-division car, yet very few people actually know the difference between the two:flyfun:

Was driving behind a E90 320d without m sport pack fitted and had a ///M badge on the back. But ppl do strange things. TRD badges on old and busted 1.3 corollas ect.

I came up along side an E46 "M3"

drevil.jpg

(or 318 Autozone)

stopped at the robot in Worcester, I was in the M5. So I wound down the window and did the "rev it for me" signal and blipped the M5. Poor guy. I did not think it was possible for him to get lower in the seat but he did and almost stalled when the lights turned green.

Every time I come across this debate I can't help but think that the ///M purists think that a non ///M car with an ///M badge takes something away from ///M cars.

It doesn't and never will. For those enthusiasts who know ///M cars, this should be a non issue because we know what an ///M is all about. So in my opinion, if you see a Hi-Ace taxi or 316i or whatever sporting an ///M badge, take it with a pinch of salt, and move on. Its not a big deal. Like many have said, to each their own....unless as an ///M owner or driver you feel that it shrinks your man veggies that a mere mortal has miss used your ///M badge.....

Nothing wrong with an ///M badge on an M-Sport model.

Its all over the car from factory. The like 7 ///M badges on my X1 MSport and it came like that from the factory. The manufacturer sees fit to have it there, why do some owners think differently ?

And, I have motorsport Iphone cover with an ///M badge, it that wrong ?

What about my ///M Jacket or T-Shirts or Shoes I have ?

^ Completely agree. What I dislike is the M before the model designation, eg; M318i. I think BMW themselves have refrained from sticking an M badge on bootlids as it's supposed to be an indication of what's lying under the hood.

Here are some examples of how not to do it. I apologise in advance if the 135i belongs to a fanatic.
