Looking for recommendations for a nice place to take the Wife.
In and around Gauteng, nice dinner and sleep over, or for the weekend.

Thanks.

For the weekend, I can recommend Dullstroom. Its a bit of a drive, but its a nice little town. Eat at : Ms.Simpsons or Art of Food

I hear nice things about Sun City, never been myself.

Forgot about Sun City. Lots to do there.

Clarens still gets my vote, and it's barely an engine warm up away. Just stay at safe places, things are not all too safe out there sleeping over somewhere anymore. I prefer an established hotel for these reasons.

Boet:

Glenburn Lodge is beautiful and close and affordbale as well as Kloofzicht. Fire place, brilliant all round accomodation, levely restaurant and food!

Also: trout fishing as Trout season now :ty:

Been to Klein Kariba and Buffelspoort before. Nice.
We did Clarens and Ficksburg in November. Our go to place.
Thaha Hotel looks really good, heard about them today from a colleague as well.

Looks like Muldersdrift has some potential, I will investigate some more.

Thanks Gents.

My weekend go to place is Fire & Ice or African Pride hotel at Melrose.
Nice restaurants close by and relaxed atmosphere.

Second choice would be the Sandton Sun..

Go to Klein Kariba

Enjoy the warm pools, and then pay R100 or something like that and go do the 3 hour game drive. Well worth it. :thumb:

Just remember to book Berghuis 12. GREAT view, and very secluded
