NF Stains

Hi All!

Like a complete idiot, I spilled NF Ultra on my car over the weekend.

Anyone on the forum know of any decent panel beaters or maybe owns around Pretoria?

If you are feeling really brave, you can try sand out the stain using 2000grit water paper. You may be lucky in that it only stained the top layer of the clear coat. I did this on my Corsa a few years back and it worked.

We tried the sandpaper followed by FG400 and a wool pad on my mate's alpine white car with limited success. Although a drastic improvement (we got the splashes 100% but not the drips), from certain angles you could still see the evidence of the spill especially when the car is clean and in mid-day direct sunlight.

Whatever remains unfortunately seems to oxidise and makes it more visible over time. Tried to go better but cut through the clear on that occasion so you will need to paint.

If you want a panel shop to fix it anyway then it is worth a try to get it right yourself first.

Whats is NF Ultra ?

Edit:

Did a google search ,found out that its an Octain booster :hammerhead:

I thought these things were just a mix of petrol and additives , didnt know it could cause that much damage .

I sent the car to another panel beater, my old neighbor who is now running the place so he will look after me!
