A Tale of Two Passes

Since Caddy101 mentioned how awesome his last visit to the WC was, why not make the next run via the great Helshoogte driving road to Franschhoek, and soema do Franschhoek Pass as well?

Sweeping bends, hairpins, uphill and downhill sections, great scenery

Organise a big lunch at for the fellas @ Col'Cacchio perhaps, and then head home?

Can I have a yay or nay my fellow Bimkoppe?

14 April? 1st wknd in Apr is Easter

Can only think 2 cameras on the way to Pniel/Franschhoek now, the one before the Kayamandi robots, one by the foot of the Helshoogte (the Spar there, think it's a dud anyway :) )

I was planning on doing Franschoek pass for our next long breakfast run. Saw in the new TopGear mag that they went on this route.
Just deciding on a date for the "far distance" run. We did one with Exclusively M 2 weeks ago.
Either Sun 1 April or Sun 29 April. They both after pay day.

Ummmm, everyone else is gonna have a hard time keeping up...remember when your car was still fairly new, on the Hermanus Beemerz run, and we had trouble sticking to you in the Estoril E36 ///M3  I think those two black lines are still in the main rd :roflol:

Then we can tell more people about it at the BMW Festival & Track Day on the 22nd at Killarney

I also only know about those two. I have seen both of them catch people before. Isn't the Franschoek car museum in that area?

Yes it's on the same road

The squiggly bits that look like a heart rate monitor should whet the appetites...

April is a busy month. Mustang club is having an event on the 15th here in Somerset. BMW Festival the weekend after, and then I'm taking leave the 30th for a long weekend away.

I should put that on the calendar.

Franschoek is always an exiting drive

Your route is perfect.... We'll either carry on to the N2 to go home or go back the route we came.

Shall we stop at the museum? It will take about an hour to explore

I live 15 mins from it and have never been there, wouldn't mind stopping off. Depends on the price, if some Fanatics are bringing partners and kids it could become costly, fuel and food + the museum trip...something to keep in mind
