whats worse than owning a tazz...

having two of them

Be careful dude, there's lot of Toyota fans out there especially in Durbs. They will come sort you out .... hang on, it's uphill from Durbs to PMB, so they probably won't make it - never mind.

Quite the upgrade. I also went from a1.4 polo to the E46. Happy days.

From the look of your upgrade list, it looks like you studied the brand and trends quite well. Grant on the beemer.

Congrats on the tazz to BMW upgrade.

completely different cars in the way they look, drive and feel. I wish you all the best.

Take my advice, as a previous 318i owner.

Do a proper oil service including a desludge. doesnt matter the mileage. just do it as part of the preventive maintenance.

Please dont do the CSL front bumber thing. Rather do the MTechII front and rear bumpers. but when doing this dont forget to change the side skirts as the Mtech body kit includes different skirts from the exlusive pack. make your car look like an MSport or Individual. + you can still add CF splitters to the MtechII front bumper.

++ if youre making the exterior look like a MTech model, try to do a similar thingy to the inside. maybe add the faux CF on the trim panels. And if the budget can be stretched, source some sport seats for the front.

Also, my advice is to also stick to a max of 18" wheels. the 19s will fit and sure will look good, but considering that its a 318i, youre gonna lose power. The Power Steering systems are not the best in these cars. adding much bigger wheels than came standard on these cars might not be a good thing for the power steering system.

All the other upgrades are cool. Seeing as you want to do a CF wrap on the bonnet, it might also be cool to add CF Kidneys. you can contact Secondskynz from this forum regarding the bonnet wrap.

Please note that the above statements are just my personal opinion and dont have to be entertained in any way. Im just stating what i think will be best for you and your car.

Thanks guys, it is a massive upgrade but I have been stuck with the Tazz for years due to soem personal problems but thats all taken care off now.

In defence on the Tazz it took me where I needed to go without a problem. But I guess no use praising another make on here.

I have been looking around and have a fairly good understanding on the upgrades I want to add.

@ Xmax - I looked at the MTech 2 front bumper and I'm not so much of a fan. I actually want my car to stand out. Heres a pic of a E46 F/L with csl bumper.

I agree with XMAX. Also, from a resale perspective, if you try to stick to mods that are as original as possible for your car, then it will help your resale. E46s with Sport packages (even those that have been "converted" properly) tend to have higher resale values and are quicker to sell than standard models. Just something to keep in mind.

However, if you really like the look of the CSL bumper, then by all means go for it.

@MSM thanks for the backup.

@Gregs - That e46 looks awesome but look a lil closer and you will see that the car also has an e46 M3 bonnet (see the raised portion). Dunno how well it will drive though. if youre trying to pull that look off, then youre gonna have to change the bonnet also.

As good looking as the car is, I wouldnt change out parts and move away from the standard look. maybe a drop and a nicer set of wheels and the car will still look super hot.

Consider the insurance as well.youre gonna be paying a packet to get this car modded. if you do have a prang, the insurance will only pay for original parts that may come with the model of car.

not trying to convince you otherwise bro. its honestly up to you. If you pull it off, remember to add some go faster bits also. pointless having a car that looks fast and catches hiding by a polo tdi.
