Hey peeps!

Just wanted to introduce myself :)

Im currently as 2007 Ford Focus ST driver but im looking at buying a pre-owned 2011 JCW with low mileage...

Any advice on things to look on for when buying a pre-owned JCW would be much appreciated :D

Thanks :)

Hi, when does the motorplan run out? Would be good to get a quote on a renewal.
Maybe just get a full report on what was changed on the car, will give you an idea of how the car was treated by the previous owner and if it has any recurring issues.

Also check that the spec is what you are looking for eg. xenons etc. will not be something you can easily add on later so rather get one with it already.

Thanks for the welcome guys :D

It's got a year left of motorplan so im waiting on a quote to extend it for another 2 years.

Thanks for the heads up. Im heading to the dealer now and I'll ask for that printout.

Welcome to the forum. I suppose a Mini is a step up to BMW. On your way up, are you?
Only kidding. Very nice cars, those JCW's

Welcome. Chances are they'll only give you a quite for one year and they aren't too keen on doing it if you have more than 6 months left on your motorplan. But they should be able to ballpark it for you. They aren't too expensive if you're only extending time

So I got the service history details from the dealer. Nothing out of the ordinary or major things done on the car. The only one that was quite costly was the replacement of the dme control unit. (12k) anyone know what this is?

They only let me extend by one year as the car still has one year left.

Got a good trade in offer on my car, so I'll sort out financing tomorrow.

Car still needs to go for it's mini quality check, roadworthy, and to fix a small dent, so I'll probably take delivery next week.

Welcome to the club mate,

You got yourself a great ride there. I love the JCW's! I know you are going to enjoy your MINI and love all of the JCW's pops and crackles when you lift off the throttle.

One thing is that a lot of people don't realize how fast these little cars are. Off the line, many cars struggle to keep up with them, let alone pass.

Many safe MINI miles

keep your ST, you will be disappointed with the performance of the JCW in comparison.

Maybe you drove a donkey JCW or against one (who couldnt drive?). But the ST is in no way a match for a JCW. Both in stock form the JCW will beat it hands down, I know this because its been done a few times before. Hell even a remap st with dp couldnt pass a JCW.

Im sure Dean can confirm this as well

It's eclipse grey. Black roof and mirrors.

It's got sunroof, chilli pack, xenons, Harman kardon sound, extended light package, rain sensor/auto lights, sports suspension.:D

Hey bud. I've been to test drive the Jcw on two occasions already. Feels much faster in comparison.

I know that it's 11kw down on the ST but it's power to weight ratio more than makes up for that gap.

Also just from the drivers seat the minis performance is far more thrilling when compared to the Focus.

And that popping/crackle from the exhaust is just plain awesome. Lol.

I raced this latest ST3 won 2 out of 3 races. The guy just bought it and maybe he still needs to get used to it. It's starts to reel in from 3rd gear. But the JCW is gone from the line and puts up a good fight. This ST3 had a Dp already. The guy kept of saying that the Mini was not stock cos of the way the exhaust popped. Lol The small secret is Bridgestones RE002 awesome tyre for street racing if you dont wanna fit REO50A'.
