Hi Guys

I am new to the forum & i was looking for some help & guidance.

I am looking at buying a BMW 130i M Sport pack in manual.
I must say they are quite hard to come by but i am hopeful that 1 will surface soon..

I will be using the car everyday & i do an average of 100kms a day.

So now i am looking to all the experts on here for some advice on the matter.

Is it a good buy?
IS it a problematic car?
IS costly to maintain?
Fuel economy etc etc etc..

Any & all help will be highly appreciated.

Regards

I Searched High and low for one about 3 years back.
most that I seen were not looked aftered, and the very few that were
were priced well over retail or got sold before I could make a firm offer. so in the end I opted for a 120i M Sport instead.
You should find a clean one if you patient though.
In my opinion it definitely is a good buy. the straight 6 is reliable without major issues except for hydraulic lifters if I remember correctly, you would pick this up with a noise on cold start.
look after it , service when needed and I don't think you will be spending that much on Maintenance for what it is.
fuel consumption can be heavy if you doing traffic daily, I would imagine more than 10l/100km

My mom has a 130i in manual as well. such a fun car!! bloody epic, and very tail happy. makes fun for driving a rwd hatch :praise:

consumption is really not bad, have done a few trips to margate from randburg and managed to get there under 6 hours with just over a little more than 1 tank.

daily avg is about 9.8l/100km

only problem they ever experienced with their 130i was the fan that died, and plugs
