Newbie - BMW X3

[Bushnut#1]

Hey guys, quite new to the forum but have been searching topics and so on for awhile now.

Just took delivery on my BMW 2.0d x3 2008 sport pack and i am very happy. Was looking around for a SUV for the wife and family and had a look at VW Tiguan, Kia Sportage etc but after test driving the X3 i was hooked.

Just want to know if there is any known problems to look out for or any extra care that i can take to have problem free millage.

One tip I can give you,

Once a month, climb under the car, and inspect the gearbox, transfer case ect for oil leaks, they like to leak, and not knowing about it, run out of oil...

And your in for 30k or more repair bill.

Just be really careful.

Other then that, they are epic... Enjoy..

Thanks guys for the warm welcome, Before i purchased the car i asked for CIA Motorplan that gave me the history of the vehicle etc. Turbo was replaced in 2010 but still under warranty. Gearbox was checked by BMW aswell as myself and didnt find any faults or leaks. Very happy with her tho cant wait to hit the LONG road lol
