Hi, my name is Eon (yes, that's my real name)

I've been a BMW Fanatic since day 1.

For a daily driver I drive a 2009 Ford Bantam 1.3 with a Steve Wyndham Racing conversion. I'm also active on the Ford ST Owners SA forum.

My dad has always driven BMW's, and I got to drive a few of them myself. Including a blue '00 Z3 3.0i which I adored. I was allowed to use it over weekends for some spirited driving through the Cape mountain passes or a cruise along the coast. This car was basically my girlfriend, I just loved the sound of that straight-6 howling through the mountains with the top down. It made me feel free and made driving a hobby for me.

The car had unfortunately been sold since, and needless to say I miss it a lot! I am however looking for a replacement that will give me that same feeling. I plan to use this forum to educate myself on various topics ranging from book value to modifications and projects.

Dude where were those two first pictures taken is that your garage :praise:

Haha, that was at my dad's hangar. He kept his Cessna 182, Z3 and Mercedes 280SL there. The hangar and the plane had since been sold, that's why he had to let go of the Z3 because there wasn't any space left at home. He will never sell the Merc though!

Welcome bud!!! I also have a Z3.

I wish I lived in the Cape though... That car was made for the scenery and those mountain passes.

Both the Z3 and the Merc are absolutely stunning vehicles! :inlove:

Welcome to the forum. Are you looking for a Z3 yourself?

My girlfriend's father has the 2001 3.0 and I too love driving it, albeit a bit cramped for my size. The sound of that engine when the top is down mixed with the simplistic styling and mechanics of the car and the feel of the drive is really something one can never get tired of. It makes these cars special.

Yes exactly! And also the LSD made it nice and tail happy :D

No, I've had my fun in the Z3, but I would like to have two extra seats for those occasions when more than one person wants to tag along. My bakkie is also only a 2 seater, so I never get to use my own car on road trips with my mates.
I am actually looking for a 2011-ish E82 135i Manual or DCT as a weekend car. Must have low mileage (<70 000km) and some motorplan left. Budget is R280k max.

Well if you like the Z3 then its a good option if you are looking for something for yourself. Values have basically bottomed out, and I imagine with that engine its a lot of fun in a little car like that.
