New Z4 Owner

Hi guys just to say I'm new to the Forum and collected my 2007 Z4 3.0si this past Friday.
The forum has already help me making the final decision to become a Z4 owner.

First thing you do is the sound generator mod, only take the sponge on the fire wall side out...

Pure induction sound will fill the cabin.... you will love it.

First thing you do is the sound generator mod, only take the sponge on the fire wall side out...

Pure induction sound will fill the cabin.... you will love it.

That mod only works on the pre-facelift models with the M54 engine. The 3.0si uses the N52 engine which does not have this feature.

I'm having a few things checked on the Z today. Seems the fan is on its last legs and Xenon blub on the blink.

Will do the sound generator mod tomorrow.

Having the control arm bushed replaced anyway for the steering becomes light at speed.

Also ordered a dropin adapted for my iPhone.

Will get some pics this weekend.

Razz I ordered it from BMW. You can check on www.bmwfans.info with you cars vin what if it is avaiable on you car.

The control arm bushes resolved the handling. Unlike most I travel 250km to a dealer so just came back and it certaily is a much beter handling car now.

I also found that new bushes improved the feel, but the steering in ours remain twitchy at speed, I have a suspicious that the steering angle sensor might me the issue...

Do you have any twitching at speed?

If the twitch you mean is at speed above 120 it moves left right sort of loose. Then this certainly fixed that for when in sport mode that loose feeling was gone. Now in sport mode it feels even more stable on the road.
Cost was R2452 at the dealer.

I removed one half of the dampening on the sound generator. Sounds better, that is enough for me at present
