New X4 and some questions

Hello All

Just picked up the 2017 X4 and have some questions.

Firstly I am getting a navigation "Connect USB device with correct activation code to start navigation". What is the deal there? Has someone done a factory reset and now everything needs reloading? Car is under motorplan and is that something that can be done at the dealer?

Secondly there is no service record in the glove box. Is that a thing now with motorplan? The old books with stamps are not there?

Hi and congrats.

If the car is still on Motorplan, log on to the Connected Drive site (https://www.bmw.co.za/en/shop/ls/cp/connected-drive) and see what online features are activated for the car. This will also give you the current status of the nav service. Alternatively, call up the BMW dealership to assist. If the Nav services have expired, you should still at least have the old nav maps, which would be free if the car had nav fitted originally

No books, no stamps. Everything is electronic. If you log onto BMW Owners Circle, I think you may see some brief history there. Alternatively, in the car, under Car Status, you will see Service History.

Regardless, download the BMW App and see what info is there as well.

From what I recall, the dealer cannot provide you with a print out of the service and maintenance history, but they can show you onscreen what was done.
