Think the Q5 is gonna have a fight on its hands here.

What a lot of folk have not noticed is that the Porsche Mecan also has variants that sit in the same price bracket and lets be honest.... the Porsche resale value is going to be a lot stronger. Me personally, I would rather have the Mecan than the Q5.....

Dont forget "The World Car of the year" F-Pace ! I rate if you want aesthetics, Ill buy either a Macan or F-pace. And if you bother to do any real offloading, Discovery Sport. The X3 is for the die hard BMW fanboi, or if you can get one less couple of hundred grand a year or 2 down the line?

Plus one on the looks of both the Macan and F-Pace, and the incoming RR Velar.

Here in Kiwi-land the X3 starts at just under $100k, Macan at $107k, Q5 at $92k, F-Pace at $95k, and the RR Velar is pegged to start around $100k too.

Basically it will come down to what is offered as standard by each of the manufacturers, but traditionally Porsche is the worst in that department, followed by Audi and BMW. Jaguar is throwing some decent kit in with the base F-Pace, at least in our market, and the RR Velar looks like it will come handsomely equipped too.
