Hi guys, I'm new to the forum but not so new to BMW.

My love for BMW's (the E36's in particular) started when I was about 9 years old when my dad bought an E34 535i. I just loved the comfort and the ride of that car. After that he owned an E36 318is, E36 323i and an E46 320d Sportpack. And thus the addiction to BMW kicked in in full force.

When I started working after school I didn't want to hear anything about buying a 'perfect student's car' or 'something economical', I wanted a BMW. So long story short, I got my first BMW, a 1997 323i manual in Alpine white. I still think that those are some of the most underrated BMW's ever. Eventually I traded it for a late 1995 328i manual which I still have. Even with very high mileage this car still impresses me very much!

The car has some minor work to be done and on my to do list is:
- wheel change (very urgent!!)
- semi clear tail lights and side indicators
- new fog lights as my lenses are cracked
- new suspension bushes all round
- new propshaft coupling
- short shifter
- free flow exhaust although it sounds pretty awesome as is (the car has branches)
- M3 steering wheel (or any other nice steering that will fit??)
- Maybe a M-Sport kit?

I look forward to learning a lot from you guys and hope to join some events soon.

Thanks for reading and sorry for the long intro :sorry:

Cheers guys!

Welcome bud,

Please do not be shy to post pics, many of us had to start where you are at to get our rides to what they are now ...

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Some amazing machines you guys have :clapper:

Mechanically the car is in really good condition, just some small things I would like to do. The interior is also very good with all original leather with only the driver's seat showing some wear. Any tips on how to get that sorted? I also redid the roof lining and A and C pillars with suede which I'm loving!

My biggest issue is with the cosmetics. Here is the only pics I have with me at the moment

I'm hating the wheels! Any suggestions?

Welcome :clapper:

When I had my very first bmw, E36 316i ofcourse I had this done to it to make it stand out from the rest, maybe look at these wheels as a suggestion.

And don't judge me by this car, was my first after all :fencelook:

Thanks Lizzard

I was thinking of going OEM but I'm not sure which style would work well on the car. Those wheels do look awesome though, gives the car a nice aggressive look! I also like the front bumper. Where did you have that done?

I actually like the look. Very unique! :coolShake:

The wheels think is called DEMON's, the front bumper is the actual standard bumper with a small addon on the bottom but fully customized by a friend of mine.

Thanks for the welcome! Although I really like the style 32's, I had them on my 323i and I want to do something different this time round.

If you wanna stay with OEM wheels then use this site to search for your wheels and looks

http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/

Thanks for the link Lizzard, got a lot of ideas from that site!

Welcome, bud!

A set of style 68's would look pretty cool on the E36 as well

Thanks bud! The style 68's do look really good on the E36's, especially with a mild drop.

Yeah they are. Try asking if anyone has a set for sale on a Bimmer page on Facebook or the forums. I've seen a clean set from Cape Town go for R6000.
