Good numbers. I think the Top Gear tests 30 - 50mph and 50 to 70mph are amusing. The DCT probably kicked down from the top gear and that is why the BMW figures are way way better than the Porsche in that particular test.

would like to see a manual M4 compared to a 911 carrera manual.

DCT vs manual, we already know dct is faster plus it has launch control.

interesting point though is the Porsche despite being without snails is almost as quick and uses less fuel
this makes me question the 'Turbo efficiency' story and leads me to believe we getting turbos purely to beat emissions tests

The Porsche is around 200kg lighter and has a bigger engine and its a Porsche. Racing engineering at its best.

Compare the M4 to the old V8 M3. That should address your concern

200kg is not going to make much difference to fuel consumption look at the 5 series vs a 3 with the same engine

I am not a huge fan of the V8 M3 because the engine seems somewhat underdeveloped compared to the S54 If they pushed the V8 further would it not be very similar to the New turbo engine?

S54 is a good example you will be hard pressed to find a turbo engine from the same time with the same power that has a massive difference in fuel consuption

The reason I posted is not for a comparison.. Its the first test results of the M4s acceleration figures..

If you look at prices the comparison is fair.. Porsche Carrera S is well ahead of the M4 on price hence the inclusion of the Carrera.

I personally would love to see how it compares to a 991 carrera s... Btw they not far off in price.. Truth be told before Porsche started slapping crazy increases locally a 991s was about R1.2m...

The M is quick and always had the 911 as it's competitor
