New joiner looking for advice on E30

Hi guys (and galls?). I came across the following vehicle and will appreciate advice.
It is a 1984 320i, auto (cruise control, central locking a/c). Mileage 195 000. FSH, owned since new by 1 family member (not able to drive anymore). 100% original and unmolested. No accidents, no panel beating. Sheep wool covers on all seats - fabric as new. Only faults I picked up: Few small cracks on dash and gear lever can be pulled off. Otherwise 100% perfect.
I am considering buying this from family member but would like to offer a decent/fair price, but have no clue what that would be - useless trying to get a fair valuation from dealers on this.

Any insights will be much appreciated!!

A 320i auto is not the most popular option on these cars so I wouldn’t spend more than R40-R45k max if it’s really neat maybe post some pics so I can advise better

Tx Moose, appreciate the insight. Some pics.

Pleasure buddy, looks like the clocks have stopped turning so 190km may not be the mileage.
Look it all depends how desperate the person is to get into an E30, personally if this was a 325i manual it would be worth something but it’s a 320i auto, it’s gonna feel slow n sluggish so don’t expect any wonders regarding performance.

Also, it’s a chromie, some like them some don’t.
Honestly I would say if u can get it at R30k or below then it would be worth it and it gives u some room for maintenance coz they all need maintenance

Out of interest what is the price so I know how far off I am :roflol:

Also, was the boot open in the pic above coz it’s not lining up?

Yip, boot not closed, needs to adjusted to close tightly. For sure no rear end damage - all seams under carpet in boot perfect/original.
Owner (trustworthy family member) did tell me clock stopped 5 days ago. Gears are on order.
I must make an offer - none of us have any idea what fair value is. I will also get "trade in" value at dealer and add say 20% to make it fair to the old lady.
So far I think your R30k is probably a good ball park value.

I agree with @///Moose's sentiments. Seeing as you know the history, R30k should be a fair price for a 320i.
To be honest I prefer the chromie, but I'm biased...
