Welcome to the forum.

Have you considered a 330d instead?

Plenty power and very light on fuel for the car you're getting.

Good luck with the search, and remember to post pics once you find the beemer of choice.

Price differance on the e46 and e90 320 and 330 is so small.

Fact that the M57N is the superior motor.

Fact, the car that you want is an E46 330d in manual....

The 6 cyl is the more reliable between the two.

A few guys have said the same thing to my my only concern is fuel economy. The reason I like the 320d is it has decent torque yet still decent fuel economy however I'm sure I will enjoy the 330d more due to the increase in power. What is the difference in fuel economy?

The 320d is more fuel efficient but it's not major. The difference on the open road is very minimal, but in town though there is quite a big difference.

For example I will use the LCi's in manual form to show you. Specs taken from um.co.za:

2010 320d M-Sport manual LCi:
Fuel Capacity-63l
Fuel Consumpsion - Highway 4.7
Fuel Consumpsion - Urban 6.8
Consumption Annual Average 5.3

2010 330d M-Sport manual LCi:
Fuel Capacity-63l
Fuel Consumpsion - Highway 5.2
Fuel Consumpsion - Urban 8.1
Consumption Annual Average 6.3

Edit to add: Specs attached for easy reference:
