Can anyone tell me where to get a bonnet inner cover for my e46.I went to the dealer and they asking over 1k.For a piece fo cardboard cut to shape.Thats insane.Stallion.
If you can. Try get the plastic type one, not to sure where mine came from my car didn't have one when i wanted to bye it so the dealer put one in for me. and it wasn't the cardboard one. the plastic one seems to fit better and lasts longer and imo looks neater. will try find out where he got it from

i was thinking you could use it for the insulation then make a cover for it so it looks nice but if you can find something that looks the way you want there is no point...
I thought is was there to thermally insulate the bonnet, as I have a bit missing from mine and I can feel quite difference in temp between the area on top of the missing bit and the rest of the bonnet (prolongs the life of the paint by preventing lots of tempurature changes)
Yep, a common problem with the old 'rollas - they being "cheap as chips" don't have an inner bonnet lining so you would see a lot of them driving around with badly damaged paint on their bonnets, especially the metallic paints...
