Greetings

Seeing that I've not reached the required minimum of 50 posts can't post under the parts wanted thread...

Would appreciate it if some of the forum gurus could give me some pointers on where and how to find the following...

So for my recently acquired '85 635 looking to source the following:

Audio fader rotary controller- the vehicle has none in the centre console, previous owner installed aftermarket immobilizer with override socket in dash (I suspect the fader control was removed to facilitate this- on the positive side no new holes made in the dash...??)
I would assume that this is a pretty standard part for all 1980's Beemers?
Similar to:

Then a more tricky(expensive?) one:
Door seal rubbers, irritating wind noise drivers door- the door seal rubber was clearly repaired at some stage- so where to source replacements?

I'm new in the classic (?) car game so assistance needed!

Many thanks

For the fader , I think you can use one from an E30 , and the door seal
best is to get it new from BMW , scrap yards wont have good ones .

Both you could buy from BMW, can take 3 weeks to come Ex germany .

Thnx zippy320

(Got to the same conclusion after some research)
Got two fader controls from local scrapyard for R100 (from an E30 and E12, circa 2.83 and 5.84 vintage if I read the info on the controllers correctly)
The white decal/detailing missing on one and the other the detailing not perfect. Can one touch up with white modelling enamel paint or are there other tricks? I'll probably only install the controller but not connect to sound system so there should be very little wear and tear.

Also got quote for new door seals from BMW- eye-watering! But should be worth it in the long run...
