Am I correct in saying eventually the new turbos' wastegate's would start rattling as well. If the current turbos are still fine (apart from wastegate rattle) would this not be a better solution? Obviously if they cost say half of what this seller is asking or by importing a kit oneself? Or better yet getting this kit on new turbos?
Just looking at different options.

Out of interest, how much do new turbos cost?
Send a pm or email to John@leohaese with you Vin number and ask him for a quote... He was exceptionally supportive when another member and myself chatted to him for prices...

Gents,

I apologize for hijacking this thread, and please excuse my ignorance, but would it be a good idea to do this item as preventative maintenance to save the turbos? Or is turbo failure inevitable in the future. I don't have any issues with my vehicle or any mods for that matter. Just a nagging concern I have for the future. Car is doing 97k km.

Thanks in advance guys :coolShake:

Wastegates just rattle, sounds crap but that's about it. Turbo seals are the things that seem to be failing and I don't think there is much to stop that. The labour on the turbo replacement is about 50% of the total cost.

When turbos fail......UPGRADE them:praise:

Aaaaaaaaaargh, I so wish I had done this!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I couldn't wait to get from overseas as I was pressed for time.
Pure turbos look like a really good option and FR & R seem to be developing a really good upgrade to the stock turbos.

The price isn't that massive for upgraded turbos (it aint cheap either!) but you can get a sheeeeeeet load more power.

Got to keep the aftermarket warranty happy for the next 2 years so no upgrading:blueCry:. Do these turbo upgrades still keep the motor characteristics the same i.e. do they deliver power the same way like the OEM turbos? I like that the car operates almost like an NA vehicle. I assume with more upgrades the more it becomes a "turbo" car. Big lag and then big boost. Not an expert though.

When you go with a modified turbos, you will need all the supporting mods to support. There is a bit more lag but nothing major. The difference is the power increase and the fact that the turbos dont start to puff out heading towards 6000rpm. It just wants to pull you past 6000rpm

Going with a single big turbo, now that a different ball game.
