Guys just got my car back from its 30 000km service and they didn't touch my spark plugs. I've read on the other forums you have to change them frequently and some of the guys run other colder or something like that ( gapped) plugs.

Any info of where to buy new plugs for my car and what plugs to buy would be greatly appreciated!!

OEM BMW Plugs are good for 100 000km... or so they want us to believe. Father-In-Law just had his checked on 61000km on a 325i e90 and they are 100%!

325i is not direct injection, so the plugs will also be different. On the 335 you also need a special tool to replace them that you won't find at your local MIDAS. Depending on how you drive, the plugs can go very far, but they can also steal quite a bit of power...

Last time I bought a set and they where R1250 at the dealers. Also couldn't find someone with special tool. On my 30,000km/ 2 years service they changed the plugs under motorplan anyway.

Yep I paid the same, highway robbery by BMW if you ask me!:censored:
I ordered the tool from ECS tuning in the states, took about 2 weeks. Wasn't a perfect fit though as there is still a bit of play. Tuner Motorsport have a specialized N54 plug tool that is self torquing, its a bit expensive but then you don't need a torque wrench. Think Rennzport may stock this tool locally?

Get them from the dealer and Bosch services can install them for you. Change your plugs every 10 000ks on a 335. Your car will love you for it....thats if you really drive it.

Hi

Anyone has a tool to replace the spark plugs? I live in Randburg area.

Thanks
Yep I bought the N54 spark plug tool from ECS tuning. It just a thin walled 14mm socket made by Schawaben. However as stated in my post above it not exactly a perfect fit but apparently it still does the job. Only thing is you will need a torque wrench as the torque on the n54 plugs needs to be precise (23nm)

I'm just down the road from you in Northriding, PM me for contact details
