N54 performance issues - Need Help

Hi Guys,

So just in summary.

I have a 2010 335i N54 Manual. Has 73k on the clock. Motorplan still in place.

Things done recently:
Coolant pump replaced in January
All 6 injectors replaced in March
Software update
Leaking exhaust

Stock Run at KAR:
Car ran 183kw and 422NM

As you can see on the dyno sheet power dips around 4.5k RPM.

I installed JB4 and intake and did another run on the dyno it managed 208kw cant remember the nm. This was on base settings and pump fuel.

With the JB installed the power curve shudders and not consistent. MAP 5.

No Errors comes up on the JB unit.

I took the car to BMW and they cant find any issues on the HPFP.

Im a noob with JB4 and will get assistance from a tuner when im ready.

BMW says this dyno graph is normal. I doubt thats the case.

Before i start messing around with the JB4 i want to resolve the power delivery issue.

What im looking at doing is a carbon clean.
Car is due for service in 4k km so im going to try and get the plugs changed.

Anything else you guys suggest i check or is this graph OK.

Many are saying its the fuel and i should add OB or ETH.

No Errors on the JB unit.

There were occasional random 30FF Boost under Target - Possible Boost Leak errors. But this was when driving normally and was intermittent.

Burgy check the car once off for boost leaks, Vacuum lines and Diverters. All was fine.

I dont know how to log yet :thumbdo:

But ill learn slowly or get one of the more experienced guys to assist

I've heard that Map5 is not a dyno friendly map. Rather use map 1.

Use Map 2 if you have down pipes installed.

Like Kish said do some logging and post them up.

Also is your JB4 unit a new or second hand?

What are your user adjustment settings?

On a Side note when i was test driving cars before this purchase the exhaust note was very noticeable.
This car is very silent compared to the others i have driven.

Could it be blocked cats? I was getting a roten smell from the car exhaust after a hard drive. BMW said the cats are fine.

Hey bud. Im not really worried about the unit. The dyno graph above was when the car was stock. Everything was removed.

JB unit was bought new.

User adjustment settings what i got off the JB4 support thread on this forum.

Car has no downpipes.

i think you're taking the right course of action by doing the carbon clean first as i think you'll have lots of built up carbon now as it has been documented..then do dyne & take it from there. then maybe try adding NF or something just to see if it makes a diff

that rotten egg kind of smell is usually an indication of clogged cats

Yip that rotten boiled egg smell. It was terrible.
