N52 Bulletproofing

After buying my BMW 130i back in 2020 I took a 2 year warranty that is almost coming to an end now looking at the cost of bulletproofing the engine now as I still love it.

The only failure was the starter motor and was covered by the warranty.

Ticking time bombs:
- The water pump has still not given up even after so many hopes.
- Valvetronic motor still holding on.
- The Disa flap is still holding on.
- Coolant plastic water pipe still holding in.

Where in SA can I get the aluminum pin disa unit & the aluminum part for the coolant pipe below the oil filter? The car is at 160 000km plus.

Also a ticking time bomb is the exchange cooler at the oil filter housing and the gaskets on the oil filter housing. Look at replacing the cooler as preventative maintenance, when these go you will find oil mixing with water. Changing your water bottle is not a bad idea. Look at a tappet cover gasket, these get dry a brittle with age. Check the plastic tanks on your radiator for signs of wear, just what I can remember from having an N52

Thanks akash those gaskets I got them replaced already by Colin's at Garage 808 except for the tappet cover one hasn't leaked yet so far.
