Hi Guys.
Hope all of you BMW are enjoying your rides (im not at the moment)
Need some help
Recently re-did cylinder head on my BMW 318ti N42b20 motor (2003 Reg) and car came back with the timing slightly out
Having used a bush mechanic to cut exhorbitant costs, his failing is that he does not have the timing tool set to make sure timing is correct.
I have read through multiple forums saying it cannot be done without it, and yet here i stand today, having done this myself with ONLY a protractor! (Yes, from a mathematical set!!)
Here is my issue now. No faults after i did it but i cannot find ANY resource online that give me the correct angle / degrees for each of the cam lobes (i.e. exhaust and inlet)
It is this specific information i am looking for to avoid using the tool as most dont want to lend it out or they want ridiculous amounts just to hire it (cheapest guy wants R1500 for the weekend...)
If any of you can help with this, i will be really appreciative. I dont need an FAQ on how to do it, just the angles in degrees. will post a pic to explain
Really appreciate the assistance with this (and yes, i know im a monkey... but a monkey that makes do with what i have
