My saturday nightmare and solution + thank you to Gizmo

Ok so here i am waking up nice and early on saturday.. Having to go buy a b-day present for mo brother in law.. Do all the usual crap at home and getting ready to leave.

Pull out the gate, join the highway... barely on the highway car decides to tell me it's now overheatingwith that dreaded little orange light. Pull off and open the bonnet and my little bitch decided that it doesnt want the water/coolant mix and piss it all out the reservoir cap. Yes it was closed properly...

So now stuck next to the highway i don't have Gizmo's number.. Phoned LZ.. (thank you bud for making the time with a client in front of you and on the phone) gave me the number, manage to get hold of the busy man Gizmo..

So i managed to get the car towed home and Gizmo came through yesterday to have a look... So the car decided to go ape shit with the error message and the one showing says that if i remember correctly is bitching about voltage on the waterpump.. So Gizmo leaves and now i'm thinking - match + petrol tank.. awesome option..

Oh and BTW the guys at Budler motorsport... bunch of assholes and i know for sure they will NEVER see me in any lifetime.. Phone them to find out how much to supply and fit a electric waterpump on my car.. Straight away the guy tells me 10K... so i ask him if he will be giving me a gold plated one.. He says they price over 7K at the dealer and they the cheapest to replace. So i asked him so your price is for the pump only + labour. he replies yes.

So i say to him well the pump with VAT from the dealer work out to R5 500.00 they will charge me a grand to fit so that's 6 500.. Does this stupid man tell me i have no idea what i'm talking about. I decided i'm not gonna tell him his an asshole but if he is on this forum dude you are an asshole as your way of treating potential clients aint working.. Anyway so he keeps on telling me that they the cheapest to replace waterpumps and it's over a 3 hour job to do this. and if i need the thermostat also it will be an additional charge...

So anyway told him to shove it in a nice way...

Dealers - visist them and a wasterpump with 10% discount + 2l of coolant is R5 520.00
Oh and btw a thermostat is around 1300 as a FYI.

So i went home and with the help of bro in law did a DIY on the pump in 2 hours and drove car to work this morning no issues whatsoever... so i'm chuffed on my first DIY and no issues.

Saved me 5K doing the DIY and the overpriced budlers prices...

I will be joining the ice cream run for sure... Now to get my Pete's 53 from crazydetailer that i ordered. and hopefully get the car waxed by friday to see the outcome.

Pity though that i have the old rims on because TWT decided to scratch my Ellipsoids...

But i must say the DIY was fun a challenge but fun. :rollsmile:

Plus it killed my diagnostic head!!
