also....one of my dream cars is your Fd3 rx7!!!!!! How what who did you do to get the car here???? i have seen some for sale? but im always 2 minded due it being not registered in sa yet? do you know of other people selling?
also. what is maintenance like on out of warranty scoobies?>
The RX7 was a real PITA to get here, it took 9 months due to snow & shipping issues from Nagoya. You have to pay everything in cash upfront and hope your car arrives in the condition you bought it. I also ordered a lot of mods and parts and thankfully they all got here except that the body kit was the wrong style so I sold it instead of trying to send it back.
I will not import a car again, If I were to buy one here, I would by one that is already registered in SA, do your homework to make sure it is legit and pay the extra money if you need to for a clean one.
I will check with some mates if anyone is selling.
The scoobs I owned were all in maintenance but in general they are not crazy expensive to maintain. The major costs are brake pads on the STI brembos and labour because working on the boxer motor can be time consuming based on its configuration.
The only other big problem with the scoobies is a ring land issues which has plagued the STI community although I never had a ringland break on any of my cars.

tell me, your 07 Scooby, you arent perhaps the guy with the blacked out scooby giving everyone shock hidings are you? are you headlights laminexed black by any chance, i know of a car like that, that causes alot of bigger cars to go home in shame from drags and is a picture exact of yours jsut with darkened headlights:thumbs:
That would not have been me, I am not really a street racer as such and did hand out a few but not at any events. I did a few robot to robot runs and mainly with AMG, x35 & M3s

I prefer spending time on the track then drag runs.
