Traxxas is always a good starting point, a few bits of advice below;

1: Its an extremely additive hobby
2: Nitro is nice but lipo/brushless is better for everyday use but quiet a bit starting up or upgrading costs
3: shop online when buying or upgrading cause the local shops are killers on certain things
4: check out oneten.co.za, we have a great forum there with allot of info
5: onroads are a waste of time unless you have tracks near you or large open parking lots
6: if you ever go Nitro then your first purchase should be a "kill switch", it will kill the engine if it gets our of range or your batteries die, without signal the nitro will go on and on.

Feel free to pm anytime for info, i live on rc

Thanks for the advice bro.
Theres an offroad track not far from where i live.
Im about to become a member of the local racing club.
Nitro's are hectic. At the last raceday the amout of flameouts :argh:.
But great fun none the less. The track Is kinda quite when the nitro's arent around. You need their acoustics  one of our club members is a pro. Competed overseas alot. Losi sponsored.. He also owns our Local hobby shop LoL. Thanks again for the advice. Nice to know we have fellow Hooligans :fencelook: at the Fanatics

Theres allot of action in rossburgh, its an onroad track but if you want to see pros throw there Serpents around like mad men you should check it out.

I love my nitros, my HPI savage is still my favorite because i love the noise but i find myself using my revo brushless more,

I use to have around 15 cars and trucks till my SO made me sell most of them because they are "messing her house" and my back hurt from sleeping on the couch lol,

Nitros are more work, they need tuning and they over heat, but if you get it right you can run aslong as the lipos do. They are a mess after running but i love cleaning them cause its apart of the game.

Whos the local hobby shop owner and which shop,

Yup got the revo a while ago, honestly its a work of art and you cant get a better RTR offroader.

Dean is A class driver and Denkit is a good store, the guys there know there stuff and are helpful, i bought my RS4 from them.

The best advice i can give is visit oneten.co.za and check out the for sale section, you can pick up some bargains there on parts and cars, if you have the cash i would also suggest you buy from Denkit because you are new and you will need there back up service and help and its good to be apart of that crowd because you can learn allot,

Where is the offroad near you located, i would like to bring a few of my toys some time there

Yeah the Denkit Guys are awesome.. The track Is in Glenwood. Its not far from southway raceway. NO 5 Wright place. If you know where Albert Luthuli Hospital is you just drive past the hospital and at the next robot take a right into the road where all the uni entrances are. after you pass all the entrances you"ll see an overhead walking bridge. Just after the bridge theres a right turn called grosvenor rd take that turn then drive all the way to the end of the road theres a right turn at the end take that turn go under the bridge and the first entrance on the right is apn raceway (portugese club) % wright place.
We have a whatsapp group that i can ask the guys to add you to the chat. great guys. love rcs lol but they joke the entire day.. youll love the chat...

Thanks Gilbert. Yeah the Rc Guys are great.
Justnn where have you been bashing ?.. Cause I can assure you after you race on the Rc track you don't wanna drive anywhere else :inlove:. Pm me your number and the guys will add you to the chat

Yeah Shay its awesome. They are extremely quick. Google traxxas slash vs drag car. The traxxas vxl with lipo was hammering vets, evos and the likes till about 250-300m mark and they only passed when the Rc truck topped out.. And that's a stock truck with 3s lipo

The site you're talking about sounds familiar. One of the guys came to denkit and bought a 5c Baja 1/5 he is from umhlanga aswell.. Awesome little machine. Thought you might know him..

Thanks Carbon.
I love the Slash. They are built like tanks..
Toughest of the Scts.
I wanna upgrade to brushless when i save up.
You should pop by the track aswell if youre in Durban.
Our track guys are a bit biased to losi but if you see them drive you would understand why they love losi. 2-3m jumps in the air land like its nothing and gas it..

I'm up in Pretoria, but thanks for the offer.

I've been planning to move the brushless motor from my Stadium truck into the slash, but time always evades me :fencelook:

I used to work across the road from Denkit when I was in Durbs, spent quite a few lunch breaks and money there. :inlove:
