I don't know how manufacturers can expect a CPU to stay cool with those crappy fans they give as standard.

That is one SICK Machine, :praise: That would be just cool for my Strategic gaming, not to mention the Game Seat with G27. Congrats. Many happy hours of gaming.

I've only ever once bought an entire new PC and that was like 7 years ago. Best part was putting all the shiny new parts together and then you have that moment you pray just before pushing the power button. Then when it goes on you go straight into the CMOS to check temps. Good times.

Okay here goes: Build log with photos.

First I assembled the major components (m/b, ram, PSU, GPU) outside of the case to test if it works.

This was my first ever build from scratch by myself, I watched on or two YouTube tutorials to make sure I didn't mess it up.

1. I put the motherboard on its box (not on it's static baggy as that is conductive) and opened the LGA1155 slot for the CPU by pulling on the lever
557160_10151246305371354_35813214_n.jpg

2. Installed the i5-3570K CPU and closed the bracket
391625_10151246305906354_662311942_n.jpg

3. Installed the RAM
562006_10151246303636354_778398670_n.jpg

4. Next the CPU cooler, first removed the fan from the heat sink
198660_10151246311571354_1499029018_n.jpg

5. Unpacked all of the brackets and tools
424680_10151246311786354_540761726_n.jpg

6. Installed the back plate to the back of the m/b
560441_10151246311876354_1551227358_n.jpg

7. Applied the thermal paste on the CPU (I think I used a little bit too much) and applied the "baggy technique" to spread it out
532135_10151246312066354_241878322_n.jpg

8. Thermal paste spread out
601590_10151246312171354_1172346444_n.jpg

9. Installed the heat sink and screwed it in place
550561_10151246312296354_1849400526_n.jpg

10. Then put the fan back on the heat sink making sure that it blows in the correct direction as indicated by the arrows on the fan
301221_10151246312386354_1591470138_n.jpg

11. Plugged in the fan to the CPU fan header
376506_10151246312481354_1491415082_n.jpg

12. Plugged in the PC speaker to hear the POST
76232_10151246306536354_1117340961_n.jpg

13. Plugged in the GPU carefully as its heavy and there is no back play support
230419_10151246312716354_690189196_n.jpg

14. Plugged in the power from the PSU: the 24pin, the 8 pin and the two PCI-e to the CPU
189265_10151246312821354_1204088133_n.jpg

Now it was ready to test. Plugged in the PSU to the wall and held my breath hoping not to see smoke and hear the POST. Pushed the swith and...........no POST (still don't know why - PC speaker not working?) but entered the UEFI BIOS and the only error was no boot disk as per the LED error code on the m/b. So everything was working properly now to build it into the case.

15. Ready to start in case installation, first removed the case screws and cable ties
199465_10151246317576354_920101142_n.jpg

16. Important to read the manual - mostly for things like which DIMM slots to use, which SATA ports to use, where the relevant headers on the motherboard are
538826_10151246306286354_56538923_n.jpg

17. Luckily the case indicated which holes needs m/b risers for the ATX m/b
200015_10151246317696354_890855509_n.jpg

18. So easy to put the risers in
301333_10151246317796354_1643747789_n.jpg

19. Installed the PSU at the bottom of the case fan down
561495_10151246318051354_1059089569_n.jpg

20. Great thing about the case are the grommets for cable management

21. Ready to put the m/b in

22. M/b in place
375826_10151246318621354_938365643_n.jpg

23. All cables nice and tidy, easier to do before installing the GPU which covers the SATA ports. But requires lots of time and planning
527496_10151246318811354_176486948_n.jpg

24. GPU in place including power
550792_10151246319046354_1260219792_n.jpg

25. Hard drives in their screw less brackets ready to be installed: My old 1TB Seagate, new 2TB Seagate and the OCZ Vertex 4 128GB SSD
66500_10151246319291354_477108322_n.jpg

26. and installed
581636_10151246319381354_1670578224_n.jpg

27. Front panel removed to install DVD drive
425813_10151246319466354_1406116918_n.jpg

28. The mess of cables at the back. Now you see it...

29. ...now you don't
408947_10151246319811354_881941791_n.jpg

30. Pretty cool and informative ASRock UEFI Setup utility (BIOS)
552015_10151246319576354_1985436719_n.jpg

All done!
