Bought a brand new Nissan Navara 2.5dci double cab for my growing family, needed more space and less worries.

added the side steps and roof bar soon after collecting.
Must say im very impressed so far.
Seemed like a good companion for the M3.

Congrats, I was considering one of these when looking for bigger family car...not new but the 2.5 dci.

Maybe the fundis can shed some light..., how have these vehicles evolved since launch in 2004?

I am being nit picky but i felt that the hilux and navara have not changed sufficiently in over 10 years to warrant the new asking price.

Navara's are all the same... The changes are minimal.

My dad bought one in 2010 brand new and from the picture above its looks exactly the same. Not even a wheel change:hammerhead:

Id say, if you looking for a double cab, go for the Amatrok... 2L Turbo is a good motor but the diesel bi turbo is excellent...

i looked at all the options.

the new Navara will be here somewhere in 2016.

the changes in the navara were really big after 2009.
all the other changes since then are minimal.

the Ranger is beautiful, but the 2.2 with just a couple extras you looking at close to 400k
the Mazda BT-50, i was really considering was 375k with the drifta pack and was pretty much full house.
the amarok and Hilux were just too expensive new.

the only one left was the Nissan and that was around 360k

BUT....... when they dropped the price to 280k it was a no brainer in my situation.
obviously trying to move stock before the new shape is out.

the hard body's are even cheaper, but they a little heavier on fuel, and not my favorite style

i wanted a double cab brand new and didnt want to pay more than 300k. NOT EASY if you want one from the top 5 manufactures

The second hand double cab market is really a joke in this country.
they obviously a popular shape and mostly work horses.

do a simple google search on second hand double cabs. you will be surprised.

Don't forget you get the Japanese spec and the Spanish spec and there is quite a big price difference.

Just like the Ranger you get the 2.2 XL and the 2.2 XLS

The Navara is the same.
A higher spec'd 2.5 model and a 2.5 "base" model

Hi
Good bakkies. We made many trips to Mozzie, towing carivans and jet ski's.
Did 450000Km before selling it. Only thing to look out for are the clutches when towing. They last about 80000Km in that case.
Not the best on fuel if you compare to other brands but this one can cruise at 160Km/Ph. If you dont mind spending money on fuel.

Never the less i owned one before the bmw , good bakkie light on juice considering it weighs like 10 elephants and is as aerodynamic as a brick .
Just need a set of wheels to finish it off.

What I use/used previously at work. We changing over to the Rangers now.
Took this bakkie to its limits. Enjoyable but I felt not economical

On a tank I averaged around 340 kms. Filled up on the Mine(so maybe it was 500ppm, and serviced by Nissan). Had the vehicle with me 24/7, so became a daily driver. Very strong and handles nicely when punched hard
