These cars hate to stand...my one stood for nearly 2 years, so now I'm dealing with a lot of issues on my touring...getting them sorted slowly though..

Ps, I only found out after about 5 months of ownership that the back glass opens..

Enjoy...it really is an awesome car

 congrats, not everyday you see one of those.

Just a few small things to sort out, but should serve you well after that!

Yip,

So R5500 just in parts for the lifters in normal?:fencelook:

Also have to do the light adjusters, I have done them on one of my dads previous cars, now I must do my own.

So I really never bothered to really get information on the car. But yesterday ran the vin code. Car was actually build in 2003/01. didn't think they built E39 in 2003.

So I am thinking of letting this one go and maybe get something more practical for my needs.

This is really and epic car and as practical car as can be but I have a few issues that is not with the car but with owning the car.

First off it doesn't fit in my garage. Now this is no major issue but I don't like to leave my car outside, and I dislike even more the fact that I have to load my two baby girls inside a car that is sub zero degrees almost every winter morning. Its not that the car it to big but with the sport suspension and what feels like the longest wheelbase ever the car beaches itself before even getting close to halfway into the garage. I tried to fit it in once and will never again.

Secondly is my daily commute. This again is an epic car for long trips and eats the roads up like it should but I stand and idle for 80% of the time during my 50km commute everyday. It makes for a frequent painful (to my wallet) stop at our local filling station.

I know it might seam like I an complaining with a white bread under the arm but at the moment in my life this car is not right for me.

So if I where to think of selling and replacing it with a slightly smaller and maybe diesel powered, slightly faster car. What should I look at for the value? Retail? trade? I know the car has a few issues like the noisy lifter and optimistic outside temperature sensor but other than that she is fairly neat and only has 150 000 odd km on the clock.

I'll get an interior pic or two tonight and post up in the for sale section tomorrow.

O and the CD player started working by itself again. :joy:
