My MPS build !!

Seeing that I'm also a car enthusiast I thought I would share my ex MPS build with you guys, enjoy!:=):

Ok so my car has been one of the secret "Big Turbo" builds of late.

The motor has been worked and can handle 1.8 bar easy, the Turbo on the other hand won't be so happy to do that he he

So my set up is currently running 322whp (will do a run @ Kar some time, done 352whp with w/m 507wnm) it was close to 40C degrees when it was tuned so expect a bit more on a colder day and once my water spray on the cooler has been sorted out.

I have decided against w/m as there is no need for it, the car is handling 1.5 bar easy and with a smile, to get the power down I have added a 400Hp "4 point" copper button clutch, pressure plate and new thrust bearing to handle this kind of power. In addition to that I have a C-pe RM 80A rubber, the car is putting the power down like you won't believe, slight spin in 3rd going to 4th. ( used the wmi at the end, didn't tune it and afterwards bye bye gearbox)

Controlling all this power is done with the Wot Box and I have limited the rev range to 6600rpm, the top end limiter is gone so this baby will go past 250Km easy (not that I'll do it, have to stay safe)

Fuel to keep the knock down was mixed with 20L Sasol unleaded and NF Ultra, Ron range + 103 no knock at all.

The puffer (ATP GT3071R) has been worked and to compliment the cooling of air with a FMIC set up, a Garret 400Hp core, Precision Intakes with custom aluminium piping build by Epic Tuning in the states.

The motor has new K1 rods, bottom and mains was done. Head has been skimmed and ported. New gasket kit and injector seals to handle the boost. Air is now being sucked in with a new custom build Cobb intake, and exhaust gasses are seamlessly flowing out with my new Steedspeed manifold all the way from Canada!

Boost is being regulated with a new EBC and can completely be controlled with the Uni Q, maps can be adjusted from inside my car with a switch. The manifold then runs into a custom build 76mm exhaust from TNT all the way to the back.
Checking if all is ok is in the form of a new dash mounted pod with three gauges, Boost, AF & oil pressure, running Mobil 1 0w40 synthetic oil.

So crack the comments and let me know if you guys enjoyed my write up

Pictures and dyno sheets will come up over the weekend.

Thanks to Meester for always giving advice, Jakes for helping out in December, Inferno for emotional support he he and Dastek for an amazing Uni Q product

At the end when speaking to Dastek and Shane from Kar, my mps could have made close to or more than 300wkw on around 1.6/1.7 Bar with the wmi, but the gearbox couldn't keep up and was tired of throwing money into the project! Miss her a lot...but that's how it goes!:flyfun:

That was me and a friend doing testing on 1.5Bar no wmi, he was doing around 190wkw and I was close to 270wkw...

Welcome! I love the MPS for it's 'sleeper' image and the LS diff makes it a killer with launching, going around the bends and at a gymkhana, especially in the wet!

thanks! Guys how can I edit my subject heading to add "My MPS Build attached"? Have a suspicion people not checking updates here cause it still refers to "New Member"? Will update with some more pic's later.

Very enjoyable read. Out of interest how bad where the valves caked up with carbon on initial strip down?
Can't remember bud, but I'm sure they were fine.

I know the feeling Ewald, its not easy to let a project go especially if you spent so much time and money into it.

Nice project.

I test drove the MPS just after it was launched. To be honest I wasn't overly impressed. Massive turbo lag below 3000rpm, then it pulled like a train until 5000rpm, and at that point it's like you switched it off - it just died again.

Other than that a very nice car, well equipped, looks good too.

Sounds like this particular one is a monster.

Thanks, it was horribly detuned for the reef and our poor quality fuel apparently...so they say and along with a crap Hitachi-Warner KKK04 turbo that just couldn't handle the thin air up here..I must say with the DISI motor and general spec of the motor they are capable of huge power without hassles like changing injectors and so, we have a + 400wkw one being prepped for Tarlton as we speak and a one was recently Dyno's at Nassen (nazkar) pushing close to 300wkw, so not bad for a 4 pot lol!
