Hi guys:excited:

Thanks for all the advise and prayers.... My M3 is much better now thanks to our friends at Zeemax.... They drained her of all that unleaded and also gave her a dyno run. She is in good shape and makes a full 210kw.

Lesson learn, my girl dont drive my car ever again and I'll see after Sunday if she is still my girl...lol:)

So 210kw is still too little any tips on what I can do to get more, but taking into account the current economy:thumbsup:

Sorry to hear that man:bawling: Where are you based? Heard that Zeemax in Cape Town is the best, a lot of people on the forum rate them for all things BMW.. Speak to Gizmo he'll point you in the right direction..

Hope all gets sorted quick and with minimal expense.

Can the e36 2door M3 not run on unleaded? Rest of the e36 range seems to be ok with unleaeded?

Lol GSpec? Is that what German Spec has evolved too?
The car can run unleaded, just not all the time. My mech actually recommended using one tank of unleaded per 5. When it runs in my car I really cant tell the difference.

Thanks SMG,

The car is going in to Zeemax tomorrow. Hopefully it will be ready before the big day on Sunday.....

Did you drain the unleaded fuel or are you running the tank empty first?

Nah, you know females... my girl was just trying to do good and filled the tank but put in unleaded in stead of LRP....

You shouldnt stress, no perm damage will be done, just drive out the unleaded and go back to the usual... btw your first mistake was the gf driving the car... i NEVER let me ///M keys leave me!

Igshaan hope you come right :)

quick question for the knowledgeable guys, What could running unleaded do to the engine?
I run unleaded in my 1992 E36 316i all the time. And my dad has probably been running that since it was available.

what should I be running?

Thanks
Andrew

well when did unleaded become available in SA? so then all cars before then would have been designed for Leaded (LRP) and most after that with cats need unleaded..

maybe i should ask Gizmo what I should use, or what he uses in his E36

how much of petrol hellas? we had a diesel van once, and a relative topped up the tank with petrol and we only noticed on the way back from the garage it started to jerk and stuff really bad.. managed to drain out most of it and topped up the tank with diesel. seemed to be ok. :mmm:

anyone else have an experience with mixn diesel n petrol?

This one is ouch Hellas, and it depends how much petrol was actually sucked through.

Petrol will destroy things like injectors, HP pump, pretty any much that is seal sensitive. Or you may be lucky that there is no damage at all, depends on how long the items were contaminated by the petrol, and what the mixture was.

have to change the filters as well and flush the system out.
a mate had this happen to his d/cab the jockey was not paying attention and filled petrol :nono: :cursin: :censored: lets just say shell paid out alot to fix
