Hi All,
hehe im quite chuffed.

check this link: http://www.bmw.com/bmwstories/com/en/index.html
its the bmwstories website.

search for the "bmw e28 southern africa" doccy

Its the previous owner who made this documentary, The interesting story behind this car is that I was originally after it, was making plans to travel to montague here in the western cape to go look at the car, and when i phoned, it had been sold.

I bought the car, by sheer co-incidence, 6 months later from the guy who bought it before me. in that 6 months, he had travelled 20 000km with the car through south africa, namibia, botswana etc.. A german exchange student.

the great thing is, the car did NOT age at all in those 6 months. It was REALLY well looked after..

yeah thanks! and a few months later when the previous owner (michael) came to visit sa again, he bought me over the mtech1 steering wheel, this is the course spline (pre 1986) variation which is impossible to find in south africa as we never had course spline steering wheels in m535i or m5 guise.. so this was a nice find.. and makes such a different over the bus steering wheel(like can still be seen in the video)
all credit to michael though for a well made video...

I particularly enjoyed this, thanks! The drift near the end was a great action shot, almost had me cheering :fencelook:

This was a luxury car at the time the fact that it is old does not take anything away.

Lovely car
