hi guys,

So my brother got into an accident over the weekend. Some guy drove into the back of my brothers 120d. According to my brother, he was just pulling away from the robot at a green light and this guy came from the back at around 80 - 100 KM/h. He couldn't unfortunately pulled away faster cause there were another car in front of him.

Now my question... could this be write off for my brother's 120d?

Here's some pictures of my brothers 120d.

The other guys car...

Depending on the damage, it will either be classified as a Code 1 or Code 2. Code 1,meaning the insurance does not write the car off as the damages are less then the value of the car, they will repair it and Code 2 is where the insurace will write the car off as the extent of the damages is more than what the car is valued at. That is how I know it goes, but sure some else can shed more light on the matter :=):

Hope that helps

Doesnt look like a write off, but i didnt think thats Cliftons car would be written off either ( damage to rear right door and rear right fender, nothing on the roof or sill)

I think its based on a percentage of the value of that car, so if damages are more than that percentage then they will write it off.

That to me does not look like a write of, but I am not sure.

If doors start showing gaps, or if your panel lines are either narrowing or widening, its a sign of a twisted chassis...If the roof has a kink or buldge in it...there are so many factors...you got to assess the damage yourself, and question if its repairable or replacable...if whatever it mounts to is twisted...then its probalby gonna cost the insurance too much...so then they might write it off....

No one knows, but your assessor!

Good luck
